Description
We're doing a one-time project for you lovers of Dr. Mark Drela's famous Super Gee II: Ten (10) ready-to-fly Super Gee II gliders, based on the classic design. Options are available that maximize stiffness and strength, with a modest increase in weight.

The standard wing is a classic SG2 made with 1 oz. / 36 gsm aramid, but special in that we make the wing in one piece construction for the cleanest lines and most effective connection of material. For those who wonder why we do not call this material "Kevlar", Kevlar is the Dupont company's brand for the material "aramid".

Wing option 2 is with 40 gsm aramid with a carbon mesh, often called "disser" to describe the pattern.

Wing option 3 puts stiffness as the higher value, with carbon spread tow on the front third of the wing, carbon leading edges, and aramid/carbon disser mesh aft including the flaperons.

For the fuselage there are two options:
Our original SG2 "clone", carbon and aramid fuselage, as was standard on LightHawk and LightSpeed version I. This fuselage is extraordinarily light in weight, has the same shapes as the SG2 fuselage, but the pod is one piece for better strength and durability.

Our version III fuselage, as used on LightSpeed III, LightHawk III, Blade, and Razor. This fuselage is enormously strong and durable, and adds ~14 grams in weight. The nose (not including the nose cone) is Aramid and fiberglass in four layers, which are then backed internally with carbon reinforcements. Aramid in four full layers surround an ultra-rigid and strong fairing, supporting the stainless steel pylon mounting for the wing. For the boom, internal corrugations line the sides going aft, increasing stiffness and durability, while the very front part of the boom hides inside the pod and creates the ballast chamber.

Those getting the version III fuselage will get version III tails and tail control; those getting the v.I fuselage get SG2 tails and tail control.

The version III fuselage option is best paired with the stiffer wings.

As described above this is a superb glider offer, but there is more to these gliders: We are installing RDS (rotary drive system for fully embedded and drag-free flaperon control) as standard with all ten gliders ($134 value), and all ten include a free ballast kit ($45 value).

In airfoil, planform, fuselage shape, and tails, this is completely the SG2. It is made with High-Load 60 wing cores and white surfboard foam tail cores. All wings will have our new narrow yoke RDS for fully embedded flaperons control.

An antenna channel under the servo platform eases installation of your receiver.
